A Beautiful Wedding at One of Greater Manchester's Most Impressive Venues
Rochdale Town Hall is one of those wedding venues that makes an impression the moment you step inside. From its magnificent Gothic architecture and intricate stained-glass windows to the grand staircase and richly decorated interiors, it's an extraordinary setting for a wedding.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Charlotte and Lewis's wedding here, capturing everything from the excitement before the ceremony to the lovely moments shared with family and friends.
One of the highlights was the grand staircase, beautifully lined with candles. The bridesmaids made their entrance first, followed by Charlotte on her father's arm, surrounded by some of the most spectacular architecture in Greater Manchester.
What I particularly enjoyed about this wedding was the combination of such an impressive historic setting with the genuine, personal moments throughout the day. Those little interactions, smiles and reactions are every bit as important as the grand portraits.
Bridal Portraits and Special Family Moments
Before the ceremony, there was time to capture some beautiful portraits of Charlotte inside Rochdale Town Hall.
The richly decorated interiors, stained-glass windows and warm tones of the historic rooms provided a wonderful backdrop, particularly for the delicate lace detailing of her wedding dress and her bouquet of soft pink and ivory roses.
Some of my favourite photographs from this part of the day were the moments Charlotte shared with her family. From exchanging smiles with her mum to the lovely reactions during the first looks, there was a real sense of excitement and anticipation.
One particularly lovely moment was Charlotte sharing a smile with her son. It's these small, unscripted interactions that often become some of the most meaningful photographs from a wedding day.
A Wedding Ceremony at Rochdale Town Hall
With its magnificent stained-glass windows, ornate wood panelling and richly decorated interiors, Rochdale Town Hall provides a truly impressive setting for a wedding ceremony.
One of the most memorable moments of Charlotte and Lewis's wedding was Charlotte making her entrance down the magnificent grand staircase, accompanied by her two dads. With its soaring Gothic arches, beautiful stained glass and candlelit steps, it was a wonderful setting for such a special family moment.
The ceremony itself was equally lovely, with Charlotte and Lewis exchanging their vows surrounded by family and friends in the historic surroundings of Rochdale Town Hall.
What makes photographing weddings here so rewarding is the contrast between the grandeur of the building and the smaller, more personal moments unfolding throughout the day. The smiles, reactions and quiet exchanges are what bring the photographs to life.
For Charlotte and Lewis, it was a beautiful ceremony in one of Greater Manchester's most remarkable wedding venues.
Wedding Portraits at Rochdale Town Hall
One of the wonderful things about photographing a wedding at Rochdale Town Hall is the variety of beautiful backdrops, all within the same historic building.
From the sweeping grand staircase and colourful stained-glass windows to the richly decorated rooms and intricate architectural details, there are so many opportunities to create photographs with a real sense of place.
For Charlotte and Lewis, the setting offered the perfect combination of timeless wedding portraits and more relaxed moments with their family and friends.
I always enjoy making use of the architecture without allowing it to overshadow the couple. The result is a collection of photographs that captures both the character of Rochdale Town Hall and the personality of the people celebrating there.
It's this balance of striking portraits and genuine moments that makes wedding photography at Rochdale Town Hall particularly special.

KIND WORDS FROM THE COUPLE
“We have been completely
overwhelmed by our photos.”
Every time we look through them, we find ourselves reliving the day all over again, noticing little details,
moments and emotions that we might have missed in the moment.
Some photos have made us laugh, others have brought tears to our eyes,
and all of them have reminded us just how special our wedding day was.
These aren’t just photographs to us; they are memories we will hold onto for the rest of our lives,
and we honestly couldn’t have wished for anything more.
