Hilary & Kinson’s Summer Wedding at Crewe Hall
Crewe Hall Wedding Photographer
Hilary and Kinson celebrated their wedding at the magnificent Crewe Hall in Cheshire on an exceptionally hot summer's day. With temperatures soaring, this was definitely a wedding where keeping everyone comfortable mattered far more than spending long periods outside taking photographs.
As a Crewe Hall wedding photographer, I know how much variety this venue offers. Its historic interiors, dramatic architecture, beautiful rooms and grounds mean there are plenty of opportunities for great photography whatever the weather decides to do.
a Very Hot Summer Wedding at Crewe Hall
Hilary and Kinson wanted their photography to feel natural and relaxed, allowing them to enjoy their wedding without constantly being taken away from their guests for photographs.
On a day as hot as this one, that became even more important.
Rather than repeatedly taking them outside into the heat, we made the most of Crewe Hall itself and photographed almost the entire wedding indoors. Hilary and Kinson stepped outside together just once for a short set of photographs before heading back into the cooler surroundings of the Hall.
It meant they could get on with enjoying their wedding while I concentrated on documenting everything happening around them.
Wedding Photography Inside Crewe Hall
Crewe Hall is one of those venues where staying indoors certainly doesn't mean compromising on photographs.
The original Hall is full of character, with grand staircases, historic rooms, dark wood, ornate details and beautiful window light. It provides a completely different feel from many modern wedding venues and gives me plenty to work with without needing to manufacture photographs or keep moving a couple from one location to another.
Throughout Hilary and Kinson's wedding, I concentrated on genuine moments as they happened — conversations, laughter, reactions and all the little interactions that together tell the story of a wedding day.
Alongside that documentary coverage, we created a small number of relaxed portraits using the interiors of Crewe Hall and that one brief trip outside.
Relaxed, Natural Crewe Hall Wedding Photography
My approach to wedding photography is simple: your wedding shouldn't become a photoshoot.
I photograph most of the day naturally and unobtrusively, watching for real expressions, relationships and moments as they unfold. When we do create portraits, I keep things relaxed, using gentle guidance rather than lengthy or uncomfortable posing.
Hilary and Kinson's wedding was a perfect example of why that approach works.
Despite the extraordinary heat outside, there was no need to interrupt the flow of their wedding or repeatedly take them away from their guests. We adapted to the conditions, used the incredible interiors of Crewe Hall and let the day unfold naturally.
The result is a gallery that genuinely reflects their wedding - the people, the atmosphere, the emotion and a very memorable summer's day at one of Cheshire's most distinctive wedding venues.
The photographs below are a small selection from Hilary and Kinson's Crewe Hall wedding.

Why Choose Paul Baybut Photography?
01. YOUR WEDDING COMES FIRST
Great wedding photography shouldn’t take over your wedding day. I work around you, your guests and everything that is happening, capturing the moments that matter without constantly stopping or directing the day.
02. EXPERIENCE WHEN IT MATTERS
Every wedding is different and sometimes plans have to change. With over 15 years of experience, I know how to adapt quickly to the weather, timings, light and whatever else the day brings - while keeping everything relaxed for you.
03. PORTRAITS WITHOUT HOURS OF POSING
You don’t need a long photoshoot to have beautiful photographs together. I’ll find the right location and light, give you a little direction when needed and keep things moving. A few minutes can often be all we need.
04. THE PEOPLE, NOT JUST THE DETAILS
Your photographs should remind you how your wedding actually felt. Alongside the big moments, I’m constantly looking for the laughter, reactions, conversations and unexpected moments happening between you and the people you invited to share the day.
Natural CREWE HALL wedding photography
Hilary and Kinson’s wedding was a perfect example of why wedding photography needs to adapt to the day rather than the other way around.
With exceptionally high temperatures outside, spending long periods around the grounds simply wasn’t something they wanted to do. We stepped outside just once for a short set of photographs together, then made the most of Crewe Hall’s incredible interiors while they got on with enjoying their wedding.
For me, that’s exactly how it should be.
The photographs are there to tell the story of your day - the big moments, the people, the reactions and everything happening in between — without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.
If you're planning a Crewe Hall wedding and want natural, relaxed photography that works around you and your day, I'd love to hear what you're planning.
