ABBEY HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
CUMBRIAA short drive away from the Lake District and just 20 minutes from Windermere you will find the beautiful Abbey House Hotel and Gardens, based on the border of Barrow In Furnace. A luxury hotel like this is the ideal place to celebrate your wedding day in style. It has 14 acres of private woodland and is within walking distance of Furness Abbey one of the country's greatest ruins.
ABBEY HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Dawn and Michael had an amazing wedding located in Abbey House Hotel & Gardens, in the Southern Lake District. As a Manchester wedding photographer, it was an absolute delight to drive to this picturesque venue to capture their wedding in such a beautiful country location, and I am grateful that I was chosen to be their Abbey House wedding photographer. This was my second wedding at the venue so I was quite familiar with the setting. I shoot all weddings in a different way when returning to the same venue and like to show off the individual personalities of the couples I work with in their own unique way.
From the outset I was overwhelmed by the feelings of joy and love that surrounded the couple, their children and the wedding. The morning preparations were filled with an atmosphere of excitement with the young bridesmaids having their hair and make-up done in the lodge with Dawn. Michael, his son and best man were full of laughs, and I was lucky enough to capture a rare moment of Michael ironing his shirt in preparation for the big day.
The bride looked radiant entering the ceremony room with her mother. And the love between Dawn and Michael was clear to see throughout the ceremony; although the wedding kiss was so quick I had to be on high alert!
Following the ceremony, the children played in the gardens, and I took the wedding couple into the hotel gardens for photos. The trees and gardens created an atmosphere of tranquillity which was reflected in the bride and groom portraits, with Dawn looking magical in this setting. Throughout the day, the children’s excitement and happiness was palpable, adding to the great atmosphere of the wedding. Following the first dance, the children definitely ‘owned’ the dance floor, although Michael had some pretty good moves too. I must thank and applaud Dawn and Michael for their willingness to go ahead with some of my less conventional ideas; which....luckily.... resulted in some unique shots in the honeymoon suite.
A wonderful place for photographing the Bride and Groom and their many guests with so many interesting locations and creative possibilities, one day is never enough to fit them all in.
I would love a return visit to Abbey House Hotel to explore the many areas we did not have time to visit on this fast paced wedding celebration. There were tears and laughter and an abundance of love. Here is a selection of wedding photographs taken on the day. The style of this wedding was mainly documentary with emphasis on capturing family and friends enjoying the big day celebrations. There are so many great attractions to this stunning hotel, it really is a perfect wedding venue for any Bride & Groom.
